Co-founders Jack Barton and Ford Buckner grew up in Dallas, Texas, where they quickly became friends upon enrolling at Jesuit College Preparatory School. As football teammates, they learned the discipline, passion, and perseverance required to lead their teammates through mental and physical adversity. As classmates, they sought answers, worked hard, and refined their intellect. As members of the Jesuit community, they sought through faith to love, respect and serve others through prayer, philanthropy, and personal relationships.
Their journey continued as they both set sights on Vanderbilt University, Jack enrolling as a preferred walk-on on the football team and Ford pursuing music in Nashville. They both plan to graduate with a degree in Economics and minor in Business, with Jack seeking an additional major in Human & Organizational Development.
Approaching their senior year at Vanderbilt, they now commit their efforts to represent the university's beloved walk-on athletes. Uniting players with the student-body, charitable organizations, and local business, they aim to replicate Vanderbilt's mission, 'challenging the limits of what's possible and working diligently in the service of others.'
"Being a walk-on at Vanderbilt and having been teammates with these athletes myself, I am committed to helping highlight the inherent good walk-ons bring to their respective universities. You should be proud to be a walk-on, and all the hard work and dedication poured into your sport shouldn't go unnoticed. Walk-ons are so much more than just underdogs... they are future CEO's, entrepreneurs, business owners, professional athletes, and all around successful individuals. It's time to spotlight the influence walk-ons have in collegiate sports, and the power they command in inspiring the next generation of college football players."
"Throughout my time at Vanderbilt, I've developed close friendships with many of the team's athletes. These guys are loyal, intelligent, and compassionate...men of the highest standard. Through the team, I've found individuals that share my faith, my commitment to family, and my passion for music. I'm extremely proud to represent such an impressive group of walk-ons, and I'm confident that our collective efforts can make a notable difference for years to come."
